MS in nursing, management, hospital administration or business preferred. Substantial clinical and management experience in both acute care hospital and SNF facilities required. Critical Access Hospital experience in a senior management position preferred. Proficiency with EMR a plus.

Must be willing to relocate to Catalina Island, Avalon, CA. Relocation assistance available. Salary commensurate with experience.

Job Summary

The Chief of Patient Care Services serves as a senior level manager over clinical departments.   This position organizes and directs the functions and activities of the patient care departments; oversees and guides subordinate directors, managers, supervisors, and coordinators in personnel management, services and programs in their department.

The Chief of Patient Services provides visible leadership for specific organizational activities that assist CIMC to fulfill and attain its mission.  This position sets the overall direction, strategy development and operational achievement of the plan for the delivery of quality, compassionate, culturally competent, and efficient clinical care to individuals, families, and the community.  The Chief of Patient Services acts for the Chief Executive Officer in his/her absence; provides expert professional assistance regarding nursing-related matters; and also works to align the clinical staff with the mission, values and vision of the organization.




Responsible for developing, planning, coordinating and administering the CIMC Social Services Department. Oversees all medical social work services including development of policies and procedures for department, provides clinical therapy services and crisis intervention to patients and families, participates in coordination of SWING and Skilled Nursing Facility admissions, discharges and Utilization Review, teaches in-service staff  trainings on Social Services related topics, coordinates facility participation in telehealth programs, assists in grant writing. At least 3 years’ experience in managing a social services department in a medical facility desirable- or 5 years’ experience working as a medical social worker with at least one year of management experience. Master’s degree in social work from an accredited university. Must hold a valid license as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. Registered Nurse – 2 F/T    positions open –  36 hrs/week -night shift 7p-7a -day shift 7a-7p. Location – Catalina Island – Avalon CA  9070412-bed acute care hospital with distinct part SNF.    

RN with emergency /acute care experience,  long-term care experience preferred.  California RN License and ACLS and PALS required.
