Catalina Island Medical Group, the doctors’ office component of Catalina Island Medical Center, serves Catalina Island’s medical needs with full-time physicians and a nurse practitioner. Additional medical services may be provided by part-time physicians as well as residents from Downey Regional Medical Center’s Family Practice Residency Program. Catalina Island Medical Group is supported by the ancillary resources of Catalina Island Medical Center, including diagnostic imaging, therapy services, nutritional counseling and clinical laboratory services.

The Medical Group is located at 100 Falls Canyon Road, up the street from Avalon’s City Hall. The Medical Group is located at the bottom level of the hospital.

The Medical Group’s scheduled hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Evening appointments are also often available on Monday and Tuesday. Please call (310) 510-0096 for an appointment. When you call, it will be helpful for you to give the receptionist your name, phone number, insurance information, date of birth and the reason for your visit. If your medical needs are of an emergency nature, Catalina Island Medical Center’s emergency room is available at all times.

Please bring the following to your appointment:

  • Photo identification
  • Proof of insurance
  • A list of any questions you may have for your provider
  • Any co-payment and/or deductible for which you are responsible
  • A list of any medications you are taking
  • If you are under 18, you will need parental permission
  • If your appointment is for a work-related injury, you will need written authorization from your employer which should include your employer’s Workers Compensation insurance information

Once you arrive at the medical group, you will be seen by your scheduled provider. Every attempt will be made to make sure you are seen at your appointed time, but please understand that emergencies may cause a delay. Other patients may have appointments with a different provider, and may be called to their appointment before you, even if you arrived before they did.
