Emergency Services

CI Health’s Emergency Department evaluates and treats nearly 2,500 cases a year. The emergency room is staffed 24/7 with UC Irvine Emergency Medicine Physician and supported by the medical center’s laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments to meet the acute medical needs of Catalina Island’s residents and visitors. With the use of patient satisfaction surveys, patients consistently rank CI Health’s emergency services as one of the best in the nation.

Catalina ER
University of California Irvine

Catalina Island Health and the University of California Irvine School of Medicine work together to run the emergency department at CI Health. With the help of UC Irvine’s Health emergency medicine specialists, we have been able to expand patient care and improve satisfaction by expanding our services and increasing the number of patients we can care for while allowing second and third-year residents a chance to hone their skills, make positive connections with patients and learn the art of medicine.
