Jason Paret

Chief Executive Officer

Jason Paret has an Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Alaska Southeast and a Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration from the University of Montana. Island life is not new to the Paret family, having lived in Australia, Hawaii, and islands in Alaska. In Paret’s eighteen years as a healthcare executive he’s achieved significant financial improvements for his organizations. He also brings with him important facility construction experience with two different projects, one in the amount of $20 million and another in the $50 million range. Paret (pronounced “pair – A”) and his wife Aimee, an Avalon school teacher, have two children, a son in high school and a daughter in 3rd grade.

John M. Lovrich

John M. Lovrich, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

John Lovrich oversees Catalina Island Medical Center’s financial services including its business office and medical records and is responsible for monitoring CIMC’s overall financial health. The certified public accountant received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California and his Master’s from California State University, Long Beach. He has more than 20 years of experience working with hospitals, including Critical Access Hospitals, and other health-related organizations. “I really like working with the people at CIMC. Everyone has been very helpful and professional.”

Lyra Garrido, CLS

Laboratory Manager

Clinical Laboratory Scientist Lyra Garrido worked as a generalist since 2005, previously working at the Urology Tower at Cedars Sinai Medical Center before coming to CIMC in 2007. She appreciates the great work environment at CIMC and the pace of life on the island.  Lyra was selected as the “Delia Martinez Legacy Award Winner as CIMC Employee of the Year” in 2015 for her outstanding work ethic and service to others. “I know most of the patients personally,” she shared.

Pixie King

Medical Records Manager

Pixie King is responsible for managing the medical records department. She is the custodian of all patient records and is responsible for coding patient services, appealing claims and ensuring that upholding patient privacy is of the utmost importance. She has worked at CIMC for more than three decades. “I enjoy helping people and I like that there are so many different things to be done every day,” she said.
